Discuss challenges in designing post-surgical lumbar spine rehab program for home health patients. Describe common post-surgical lumbar spine fusion (LSF) functional precautions and activities prescribed by the surgeon. Identify the most common approaches to the LSF procedures and main types of lumbar fusions. Identify surgical LSF risk factors related to increased risk of non-union of the fusion site. Identify post-surgical short term and long term LSF complications. Describe Functional Loss Characteristics observed in patient after LSF surgery, especially in the early stages of the healing process. Describe specific to LSF patient subjective and objective examination components, that are important in establishing a safe and comprehensive rehab program. Describe the treatment strategy and main components of the rehab program during the first 6 weeks after the LSF surgery.
